So right now there is no fix if I want to use maven build?
The fix was actually backported into Nexus much faster than I feared it would. It's already in the latest nightlies, hence it's already in Maven builds as well.

Has this error now been corrected?
According to his GitHub commits and the commit hash of the latest release, yes it is.
@Maven Hi, it seems like your latest Nexus-ATV nightly build is missing DV support?
This was probably a mistake? The built in Kodi DV support is not backported into Nexus, and most likely wont be. It's only in Omega/master.
It was already mentioned here by an other user, but I'd like to say it again and more clearly since it's a really big deal for many users:
Apparently the audio/video stuttering/desync issues (on Nvidia Shield) are solved and fixed as per this post on the Kodi forums
https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php…4774#pid3134774
Also, there are several merges to the master branch on the official Kodi GitHub repo about this issue, and commits reference "forums findings".
Unfortunately though, these fixes will likely take forever to make it into a "usable" official Kodi version (not a nightly Omega build). In my opinion, backporting the fixes into the Nexus custom build here would be very valuable and preferable over using a v21 nightly/custom build. And I think this because using v21 this early can be very problematic for e.g. addons and skins. Some will simply not work. Also the fixes
I hope these words spark some interest to this topic.
Nvidia Shield
2019 Pro Version working like a charm
Are you saying that TrueHD Atmos passthrough works for you on Nvidia Shield 2019 without any problems?
Your audio doesn't cut out every now and then?
Yeah same problem with seeking but I don't mind. Just restart the file and it will play from the last point you stopped it. At least now I have no audio stutters in atmos on nexus, and that is what matters to me.
Damn, crazy how you can be fine with that. No way I'd be fine with that. Huge nuisance, if it was the only option, sure I could live with it. But now that I know I could use either Kodi 19.0, or Plex and not have that issue, there's no way I'd be fine with it haha.
My dream right now is just to be able to use Nexus and everything would just work.
I've been fiddling around with a Fire TV Cube (3rd) to tackle the exact same issue. Both TrueHD and DTS-HD playback fine, but E-AC3 with Atmos metadata stutters like hell. I also have a Shield TV Pro (2019) running KODI 19.5 and as far as I know it doesn't have that issue, but I'll double check it tomorrow.
From my experimentation I can confirm that 19.4 and up has the issue. Although the stutters can be very uncommon (like maybe takes 30mins to get one), but sometimes more frequent as well.
I tried a bit of 19.1 and 19.2 with no luck replicating the issue. I'll try to do more thorough experimentation, but according to my quick tests, I'm thinking either 19.3 or 19.4 caused the issue. Although I have not tested nearly enough yet to say this for a fact.
But at least I've been able to watch a full movie without an audio stutter. And this would never ever happen to me with 19.4 and up.
Also, you said E-AC3 Atmos. I think I remember the issue happening with E-AC3 Atmos as well, but I've only been testing TrueHD Atmos for now.
Yes, same issue.
I just got my Shield TV pro some weeks ago, so besides Plex that works perfectly, I haven't tried anything else than Kodi Mavens Nexus betas and RCs.
Before that, I owned a Coreelec box (Beelinkg GT1 ultimate) for years and it worked without any issue with Dolby Atmos/true HD tracks, but it couldn't handle dolby vision.
For now, I'll stick with Plex which is the only reliable player for Dolby Vision/Atmos movies.
Yeah Plex just works.
And apparently Kodi 19.0 as well. Keep an eye on the replies here. If we find a fix for the issue, I'd recommend Kodi.
After you custom skin Kodi, it'll be much nicer than Plex. And you can use PlexKodiConnect to use your Plex library via Kodi
Do you think it really is object orientation (Atmos) or the TrueHD (high bitrate) that causes the stuttering. Fandango also does DV from mkvs?
Update to the problem:
Tried without DV, just normal HDR and TrueHD Atmos, still audio cutting out.
Then I decided to try original Kodi, no mods, Nexus RC2, and audio still cuts out.
However, Original non modded Kodi, v19.0, audio does not cut out.
So indeed it seems like either version 19.1, 19.2, 19.3 or 19.4 broke this somehow. (I have confirmed that it also happens in 19.5)
I'm going to try different versions and see which version bump causes this (as soon as I have time).
Maybe could check diffs in git what has changed between the versions then and see if there was something to revert.
(How exactly can I find diffs for the android build between these versions numbers, would appreciate help, or overall help with any thoughts on what could be causing this)
Hi,
I also faced some audio stuttering with latest nexus builds when playing Dolby Vision+ Dolby Atmos/true HD, but with today's nightly build, the problem seems finally solved.
I've been watching a movie for 30 minutes and so far no audio stuttering, so it sounds promising.
Edit: spoke too fast, I just had audio stuttering
Same problem as I have? What were you using before updating to Nexus RC2? (if anything)
And did it have audio stuttering?
Had the same problem with atmos cutting out. After switching the audio iec repacker to raw I played a 70GB file with DV and Atmos flawless. Not one single audio cut out.
Damn, almost. It seems like audio maybe doesn't cut out anyway, (I tried for like 30mins), but now seeking is completely broken. If I seek even 10sec in either direction, audio is done for and won't come back unless I restart the whole playback.
Does this happen to you?

Oo, ok, I'll give it a try today, thanks a lot.
Do you think it really is object orientation (Atmos) or the TrueHD (high bitrate) that causes the stuttering. Fandango also does DV from mkvs?
I guess I'm not sure of the cause, maybe it could be some DV thing as well. But I have watched DTS-X DV movies on Maven builds with no issues and it has seemed like non Atmos DV works as well.
Maybe I should try non DV Atmos files to see if the problem persists. Usually just where there is Atmos, there is also DV. But ofc I can specifically download a non DV one as well.
And yes, Fandango's build does DV from MKV, if that was a question.
At least does for me, if my TV displaying the "Dolby Vision" pop up and getting brighter is enough indication of it working haha.
Does playback of Atmos actually work for people on Nvidia Shield (2019) using this?
For whatever reason, Atmos will not work stutter-free for me on this build. Yes, Atmos triggers, and the "works" just fine, except every now and then the audio stutters, cuts out completely for a second, etc.
However, Fandango's build seems to work flawlessly.
As a test, I installed Maven's version (Matrix or Nexus, makes no difference for the stuttering) and Fandango's version.
The only Kodi setting I touched was enabling passthrough for audio and toggled on every sound format. Every other setting on default.
Tried playback of st p7 dv truehd atmos movie. DV and Atmos triggers fine on both builds, but Maven's builds have stuttering audio while Fandango's doesn't.
What gives?
Fandango's build is based of Matrix 19.0, while Maven's is based off latest Matrix/Nexus. Could the issue be somewhere here?
I'm begging for any suggestions or something to try out.
So, it makes me furious how Plex works out of the box without any issues whatsoever. But Kodi is so much better after skinning.
I have an LG G2 and Samsung Q950A.
ps. let me know if I'm not allowed to speak English and I need to come back with Google translate, haha.
