Dolby Vision

Hi,

First time poster

I have had issues playing Dolby Vision on my LG G2 TV via Fire TV Cube (3rd Gen). Plex app via Fire Cube works for some, same with stock Kodi.

I have since installed the Kodinerds version (build says 21.0-ALPHA1) and performance is better as a couple more files play in Dolby Vision.

However, some still do not play in DV, reverting to standard HDR. Thought this could be an issue with the Fire Cube, but after checking Media Info of the files that do and don't work, I don't see any difference as they all show:

Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible

Any tips/recommendations to try and get these files to play in DV? Should I have installed a specific Kodinerds build for my Fire Cube? I am a complete novice so do go easy

Im Gegensatz zum anderen Thread habe ich in meinen Builds Anpassungen vorgenommen, die dort nicht vorhanden sind.
Dies betrifft in der Regel aber nur Geräte mit Android TV.

Does my post make sense? Just trying to get all DV files to play in DV and not HDR!

Those files should play with "mavens build" without using an early pre-alpha.

V20 should work. That is one of the main differences between Kodi-Builds and Mavens-Kodi-Builds.

It does work on my shield. Till now with every DV-Video (all ot them have basic hdr included) plays as DV.

I am running Mavens build, v20 but some DV are still playing as HDR. Odd and no idea why!

Hmm still playing these same files in HDR10. Odd.

Must be Fire Cube issue/limitation?

UPDATE: enabling the option 'Convert Dolby Vision for compatibility' works. This seems to covert Profile 7 to Profile 8.1, ignoring enhancement layer. Still not sure why my other files in Profile 7 play without enabling this option but at least enabling this gets the other files to play ok.
