How do you recursively scan folders into TV shows?

    I'm trying kodi out for the first time and I'm not finding this very intuitive. What I would like to be able to do is take my episode downloads (which at times come with a ridiculous folder structure) and dump them into my tv directory without having to waste my time picking the files out individually. Is there a way to recursively scan media into the TV SHOWS catagory... Ideally automatically on start.
    In an ideal world I would like to be able to download a season directly into the TV folder and have kodi check for the new files on start. What is the normal workflow for these operations?

    if the file name is correctly named ( tvshow name(year) - S00EXX - everything ) recursive scanning is the standard setting.
    you only have to enable the option to scan at start which you find here:
    settings -> media -> database -> scan at start

    you have to set the skin setting level to expert (left down) to see this option.
